Movement in Hamirpur

Non-cooperation movement of Mahtma Gandhi had sated fire in the English rule. Revolt against English rule began to spread in each and every house. In  1. July 1921. British declared the Congress organization illegal , and imposed Section 144 in the entire country. Acting under name of Congress were arrested. And applied the indictment of treason by putting him in jail. In opposition to the declaration of the section 144, Gandhi urged Indians to dissolve it in the country. So Rath was also gathering.

at Rath tehsil near sun clock there held a meeting in front of deliberate government policemen and Tahshildar for breaking section 144. That time Deewan Shatrughan Singh, Shri Pati Sahay Rawat, Pt haridas, Lal Singh, Babu Baijnaath, Matadeen Budhauliya, Moolchandra Sharma, Seth Gajodhar Prasad, Seth Gareeb Das, Kaalicharan Agrawal, Devi dau, Harprasad Seth and Gyasi Lal were the head activists of the Congress .They braked the section 144 by holding a Non-cooperation meeting. As a result Deewan Shatrughan Ji, Moolchandra, Matadeen, Gajodhar Prasad, Gareeb Das, Devi Dau, Harprasad, Kalicharan and Gysai Lal arrested on the spot and imprisoned them in Hamirpir Jail.

This was the first indictment of Hamirpur in Indian Freedom struggle which was placed under Hamirpur Court. The news of the arrest of Congress workers spread in the Bundelkhand  like a light.Rani Rajendra kumari Went to Jail with Shripati Sahay Rawat to see him. Dewwan ji imparted the responsibility of freedom struggle to her wife. Devan ji acknowledged the treason in Front of the court. He was sentenced to jail for 18 months and transferred them to Agra cant jail. That time pt nehru was present on that jail.

Rani Rajendra Kumari went to jail to see her husband. Deewan Ji said to her that its her responsibility to continued the freedom struggle.She was the bravo lady after returning from the jail she herself once again break the section 144 in Ramedi hamirpur. and given a speech in fron of the public. After that Bundela Thakur Ajit Singh had broke the section 144 to motivate the public.and Challenged the Britishers to arrest him and tortured him. After that Pt Haridas, Thakur Ujagar Singh, Sri Bhai and Lal Singh had broken the section but police did not arrest them.

After that event Rani Rajendra Kumari along with Sri Bhai and Lal Singh visited the district for the promotion of Non-cooperation movement. They held meetings in Kuchhechaa, Kundaura, Bharwa Sumerpur, Ingohta, Bidokhar, Patan pur and Mankraon. Rani Sahiba had participated in Gaya cangres and met with many female freedom fighters like Kastoorba Gandhi, Sarojni Nydu and Kamla Nehru. Rani's speech given in Kajli Fair of Mahoba, Ramleela of Rath and Kans Fair of Maudaha were the heart touching.

Another important activity during the Non-cooperation movement is the political confrence of Mahoba. This conference provided public awareness in mahoba and around Mahoba.
