Hamirpur History

Hamirpur, Uttar Pradesh is such a district which have its own unique importance in the Indian History panel.

The soil of the area lighted by the austerity of Maharshi Parashar, Chayan, Jamadagni and Shrangi Hrishi. While on the other hand its glory turned  unexpected during splendorsome Chandel period. From the revolution of 1857 till Quit India Movement in all war of Independence, the name of this district is memorable.

Diwan Shatrughan Singh and Pt Parmanand who was the father of Singapore uprising, Both are the son of this tract of land. I'm also give my deep admiration for the Womanhood of Hamirpur District. who in the hour of peril for the motherland forsook the shelter of their homes and with unfailing courage and endurance stood shoulder to shoulder with their menfolk. hardly any other district's  in India's freedom struggle of women have participated as such to the territory. Rani Rajendra Kumari, wife of Deewaan Shatrughan Singh was the women leaders of the district's freedom activity. She was called another Rani Laxmi Bai of Hamirpur.

There is a village named Jarakhar (Jhalokhar) 15 Km away westward from Rath Tahsheel. The Lodhi Rajppots of this area had the patriotic personality. There loyalty for the Bundela King Maharaja Chatrashaal is well known. Once the army of the Mughal emperor of Delhi was going to attack over the Panna. At night there troops Made the camp in Jarakhar. The patriotic heroes of Jarakhar find out reality of that military camp.

At night the people of Jarakhar together invaded like guerrilla army. Jarakhar residents cut off the head of defeated army commander and presented to the King Maharaja Chatrshal by placing it on a plate covered with emerald silk sheet. Chhatrasal became very pleased to hear about the bravery of Jarakhar people. He canonized Lodhi Rajputs of Jarakhar by 'Rawat' on the victory . As a symbol, he provided saber, mace, and funnel to them.
