Sources of Fuel

Fuel or Energy is a primary input for almost all ativities which improves the quality of life and progress of society.

Hamirpur, As a semi developed area, first known use of fuel was the combustion of wood or sticks. Throughout most of human history fuels derived from plants or animal fat were only used by humans . Dry dung ( uple), Charcoal, LPG Gas and kerosine are the other source of fuel.

In Hamirpur District  thare are lots of villages which have no electric connection. Every Ten households in rural areas use electricity to light their houses. In the rural people still uses kerosene to light their houses.

Perhaps very ugly statistic is that there are still numerous households in Hamirpur villages with no source of lighting whatsoever.

over 75% of rural areas still using firewood, crop residue or cow dung as its primary source of fuel for cooking.

 Now a days Government providing LPG connections to every household thus The proportion of families in urban area using kerosene and dung cake for cooking has been reduced.

Customers are encresing in every Gas Agency. The Gayatri Gas Agency Rath have the largest no. of customer in Hamirpur which is 14640. The District have 71725 LPG gas connections in 2017, as per Dainik jagran news.

Government is also taking action on developing solar panels. the resukt is seen in khadehi lodhan, hamirpur, badanpur, bhauniya and other rural villages where solar lights are running.
